Description

The SARS-CoV-2 Quantification Standards are a set of RNA standards that can be used to quantify the concentrations of RNA from the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) which is responsible for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

These RNA standards contain a region of the viral nucleocapsid (N) gene and a host-specific target region (human RNase P gene) to assess standard integrity. The kit also includes a No-Template Control to confirm the absence of contamination in the reagents.

The SARS-CoV-2 Quantification Standards can be run in parallel to samples with unknown concentrations of SARS-CoV-2 RNA, and feature a range of concentrations from 8 genomic copies per µL to 5000 copies per µL, allowing users to quantify purified samples.

These RNA standards are ready for use upon thawing on ice with no additional hassle required to create serial dilutions, and technical support is available for all steps of the setup process and data interpretation.

Technical Specifications
Compatibility Purified, synthetic SARS-CoV-2 RNA ladder is validated for use with Bio-Rad’s CFX96 Touch™ Real-Time PCR Detection System with corresponding CFX Maestro software and the Quick SARS-CoV-2 Multiplex Kit (R3013). However, it can be used in any RT-qPCR system and RT-qPCR master mix that targets the N-gene in SARS-CoV-2.
RNA Quantification Detection range from 80 copies to 50,000 copies per reaction.
Sample Source Quantify SARS-CoV-2 RNA in purified RNA samples such as wastewater, sputum and saliva.

FAQs

Yes! The SARS-CoV-2 RNA Quantification Standards do not come with a master mix, and have been validated for use with the Quick SARS-CoV-2 Multiplex Kit (R3013) Master Mix (2X CV Mix).

The product is guaranteed for up to 3 freeze-thaw cycles. To minimize excess freeze thaw cycles, the standards can be aliquoted into smaller volumes upon receival.

Yes; these standards are validated for use with Bio-Rad’s CFX96 Touch™ Real—Time PCR Detection System.

Yes, the SARS-CoV-2 RNA Quantification Standards should be stored at -80°C. The standards should be thawed and kept on ice while in use.

To ensure accurate quantification, the sample RNA template can be diluted as needed to fall within the kit’s range of 8 copies/µL to 5000 copies/µL.
