Q1: I ran out of Zyppy Wash Buffer. Can I substitute it with a homemade solution or Wash Buffer from another kit?
Q2: I accidently left my Neutralization Buffer at room temperature. Will it be okay?
Q3: What are the endotoxin levels in plasmid DNA isolated with the Zyppy Kits?
Q4: Can the Zyppy Plasmid kits be used to isolate large constructs (BAC/PAC)?
Q5: Can the purified plasmid be transfected into eukaryotic cell lines?
Q6: What is the composition of the Zyppy Elution buffer?
Q7: Can E.coli grown in enriched growth media be used with this kit?
“The speed I was doing a side by side comparison with Invitrogen and it is really nice to go from culture to plasmid DNA in less than 15 min. Also the precipitate was really solid, no floaties, so it was very easy to pipet off the supernatant.”
– Rebecca N.
“It performs just as well as the Qiagen mini-prep kit (the accepted lab-standard). The kit was very easy to follow and the resultant DNA was compatible with our complex downstream procedures.”
– Richard F.
“The results gave what they promised! Clean DNA.”
– Pamela R (UT Medicine San Antonio)
The speed of sample processing obviously. I did 18 samples in one run, it was very easy to perform physically and psychologically :). I like that your plastic ware is much better designed than Qiagen’s plastic ware. For example it seems to be taller and holds the wash liquids in much better. I also tested a Qiagen kit in parallel with yours and the plasmid yield was significantly better. For routine plasmid preps that we do in our lab, its works great. The price is great too.
– Maria Volnoukhin (Simon Fraser University)
“The kit gives a very good yield of plasmid DNA of up to 12 kb in size. I like the fact that procedure can be modified for purification of plasmid DNA from up to 3 ml of bacterial culture.”
– Vladimir B (Touro University Nevada)
“Simple procedure was easy to follow, high yield. Blue/yellow color visualization. In spite of all the advantages of above, it is inexpensive!!!”
– Hyejin Y. (Washington University School of Medicine.)
“Fast, efficient purification, good with elution of concentrated DNA thanks to a different spin column design, fewer buffers and fewer steps than in other minprep protocols, all buffers prepared and ready to use straight out of the package, good price. Please don’t change anything, the kit works great.”
– Sebastian K (Lund University)
“Performed side-by-side preparations of single culture split into two, using the Zyppy and a leading competitor’s miniprep kit. The Zyppy kit saved me ~25 minutes and returned plasmid of better 260/280.”
– Greg G. (North Carolina State University)
“The quality of the DNA is very good. Sequencing reads are generally beautiful.”
– Magdalena B. (University of Massachusetts, Amherst)
“It’s so FAST! And it works!! I can’t think of a way to improve this product. My big problem with it is that it is SO fast that I don’t have time to label my tubes!”
– Anita F. (Fairfield University)
