YFP Antibody (BioVision Inc.)
Since the molecular cloning of GFP cDNA and demonstration of GFP as a functional transgene, GFP has become a powerful tool with exciting applications in developmental, cell and molecular biology. |
Protein Extraction & Purification
BioVision's Protein Extraction and Purification Product Line contains antibiotics, cell lysis agents for bacterial cells, cell fraction kits, detergents, phosphatase and protease inhibitor cocktails, tag antibodies and protein quantitation kits. The fraction kits allow for separation of cytosolic, organellar, mitochondrial, nuclear, plasma membrane and cytoskeletal fractions. In addition, kits are included for isolation of genomic and/or mitochondrial DNA. Our detergent line includes high quality nonionic detergents (NP-40, Triton X-100, Tween-20, Tween-80, OG, OTG), a zwittergent detergents (CHAPS, ASB-14, Sulfobetaine 3-16) and an ionic detergent (SDS). The phosphatase and protease inhibitor cocktails are offered as ready to use formulations and encompass a wide variety and combinatorial forms which include both phosphatase and protease inhibitors. Our tag antibody line includes GST-, His-, HA-, S-, CBP-, DYDDDDK- and Myc-tag antibodies, while the anti-HA-tag antibodies are also offered with biotin or FITC conjugates. Finally, our protein quantification kits include both BCA-based and Bradford-type protein analysis.
Tag Antibodies
BioVision is pleased to announce the addition of six new tag-specific antibodies (CBP, DYKDDDDK, Strep II, T7, V5, SBP), which expands our product line to include fifteen tag-specific antibodies and six anti-fluorescent protein antibodies. Epitope tagging is a powerful and versatile strategy in the labeling, isolation and detection of proteins and has applications in Western Blot, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining methods. Moreover, the small size of epitope-tags tends not to affect the protein’s biochemical properties, while sometimes aiding in their recovery and solubility properties (e.g. GST). To utilize this feature, protein expression vectors are typically engineered with the gene of interest cloned in-frame, relative to the tag. Fusion protein detection and/or purification is mediated by highly specific antibodies to the epitope-tag, thus eliminating the need for antibodies to proteins from each newly cloned gene. Commonly used epitope tags include glutathione-S-transferase (GST), c-myc, His-tag, DYKDDDDK (also known as FLAG®), green fluorescent protein (GFP), S-tag, influenza A virus haemagglutinin (HA), calmodulin binding protein (CBP), Streptavidin (Strep II) and the more recent T7-tag (from leader sequence of T7 bacteriophage gene10) and V5-tag (derived from P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus SV5). In addition, BioVision offers six antibodies for each of the fluorescent proteins (BFP, CFP, GFP, mCherry, RFP and YFP).

mCherry Antibody (BioVision Inc.)
mCherry is the second generation monomeric red fluorescent protein that have improved brightness and photostability. The recombinant mCherry is expressed and purified from transformed E. coli using a method that ensures high purity and maximal fluorescence intensity. mCherry protein is a 28.8 kDa monomer with 256 amino acid. |

His-Tag Antibody (Clone BV-G020) (BioVision Inc.)
It is expected that the His-Tag monoclonal antibody will react with proteins tagged with His from all species. |

HA-Tag Antibody (Clone 12CA5) (BioVision Inc.)
Epitope tags are useful for the labeling and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunostaining techniques. The HA tag is derived from an epitope of the influenza hemagglutinin protein, which has been extensively used as a general epitope tag in expression vectors. |

GST-Tag Antibody (BioVision Inc.)
Glutathione S-transferase (GST) is a widely used protein fusion partner, since it provides an easily detectable Tag and also a simple purification process with little effect on the biological function of the protein of interest. |

GFP Antibody (BioVision Inc.)
Green fluorescent protein (GFP) is a spontaneously fluorescent protein isolated from pacific jellyfish, Aequorea victoria. It transduces the blue chemiluminescence into green fluorescent light. |

C-Myc Antibody (BioVision Inc.)
Epitope tags are usually for the labeling and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining techniques. Due to their small size, they are unlikely to affect the tagged protein’s biochemical properties. |
