Bisulfite-Converted Universal Methylated Human DNA Standard

Bisulfite-Converted Universal Methylated Human DNA Standard

Highlights

  • DNA that has been enzymatically methylated at all cytosines within a CpG dinucleotide context and bisulfite-converted for direct use in downstream methylation applications.
  • Provided with a primer set to amplify a fragment of DNA after bisulfite conversion.

Description

The Bisulfite-Converted Universal Methylated Human DNA Standard is designed to be used as a control for DNA bisulfite conversion and downstream analyses including PCR, MSP, and other amplification-based assays. This DNA is identical to our Universal Methylated Human DNA Standard, but has been bisulfite-converted using the EZ DNA Methylation – Direct (D5020) kit. This product is provided as a 20 ng/µl solution and contains enough for 50 reactions. The primer set included with the standard has been designed and validated to amplify a segment of the bisulfite-converted DNA.

Product FAQ

Q1: What is the source of the Universal Methylated Human DNA Standard (D5011) and Bisulfite-converted Universal Methylated Human DNA Standard (D5015)?

The sample is derived from human male brain tissue.

Q2: Are the Human methylated DNA standards completely (100%) methylated at the CpG sites?

All standards are enzymatically methylated by CpG Methylase in vitro at all CpG dinucleotides. The methylated DNA is very highly methylated (> 95% of all CpG sites).
